On Wednesday, Amazon sent a surprising email to its users announcing the imminent shutdown of its Halo division. Effective from July 31st, 2023, the e-commerce giant will withdraw its support for all health brand devices, including the newly launched Halo Rise sleep tracker.

Melissa Cha, the Vice President of Smart Home and Health at Amazon, informed the company's employees in a memo, which was obtained by The Verge, that the decision to terminate the Halo program was not an easy one and would result in job losses.
She stated that Halo had encountered numerous challenges, including a highly competitive market and an unpredictable economic climate. Despite Halo's popularity among customers, the company must focus on maximizing benefits to its customers and prioritizing resources to ensure the long-term viability of the business.
